Author Sylvia Dickey Smith was born in Orange, Texas, and lived there through her high school years. She now lives in Georgetown, Texas, near Austin. She is also the author of a popular mystery series featuring Sidra Smart, private eye, set in the borderlands where Texas and Louisiana meet.
