Caroline has been around horses all her life. When she wins a rodeo-style competition one summer, the owner of a posh local riding school invites her to take free lessons in show jumping. Suddenly Caroline is introduced to a whole new world: sleek thoroughbreds, expensive trainers, and wealthy, sophisticated riding students.

Caroline is awed, yet some things about the riding school bother her. The owner seems to care more about medals than horses and people, and the trainer seems to have a secret to conceal.
