As a child, Billie Lualan grew up in the home of her aunt, where she had been dumped by her father when she was no more than a toddler. Unwanted and unloved, she developed an attachment disorder, which followed her all her life. She eventually married a man she cared little about and gave birth to a daughter and son, whom she was incapable of loving, even after psychological counseling.
