Alabama's campus today is a reflection of the reconstruction era of the U.S. following the Civil War and contemporary buildings. As a result, several schools of architecture are represented on campus. This book looks at how history has shaped the architecture of Alabama's campus, what styles are most prominent and the sites that are worth a visit, including the President's Mansion, the Gorgas-Manly Historic District, the University of Alabama Observatory and more.
