'Fishery Development' is a concept for the promotion of culture fishery and the protection of capture fishery. To achieve the objectives of this concept, there is a need to collect information on hydrobiological condition of water in question, the biology of the species to be cultured and the interrelationships between the environment and the organisms. For the collection of data/information, the involvement of field workers, progressive fish farmers, scientists and the fishery departments is essential. On the basis of the available information it is possible to prepare the blue print of the future strategies, policies and legislations. The countries having best managed fishery have all such informations. The present book is an attempt in this regard. We have tried to collect the information on the basis of available resources at our disposal.
