Power and greed breed lust for more power and even greater greed — an old law that the Terran Federation seems to have forgotten. After bringing in the resources and the manpower from the Fringe Worlds to help fight the Khanate, the Federation preens a little, ponders a bit and decides to keep the newly acquired strength. What this should mean for the expanding Fringe Worlds is inclusion in the Federation — what it turns out to mean is the Khanate being invited in while the Fringers become little more than slaves. Insurrection is another great sci-fi collaboration by Crusade authors David Weber and Steve White.
