Among those official constitutional documents and other political papers related to the creation of the new State: United provinces of Venezuela, are the text of the Declaration of Independence, the Declaration of the Rights of the People, and the Federal Constitution of 1811.

This edition contains a General Introduction written by Professor Allan R. Brewer-Car as, explaining the origin, the significance and the extraordinary story of the book.
