As a recovering alcoholic, Marvin Deernose is trying to stay clear of trouble and temptation. While returning to his Montana hometown, Marvin passes by an overturned Cadillac. He soon rescues the elderly Senator Henry Neihart and later gets an invitation to the Senator's estate. It is there that Marvin meets the Senator's granddaughter, Justine Gallego. There is an immediate attraction between the two and Marvin soon discovers that Justine is unhappily married. In Nine Below Zero, these two lost souls must decide whether they want to leave the safety of their lives to pursue true love.
