Dr. R.C. Mishra had passed his M.Sc. in agriculture from the University of Kanpur. Due to the partition of the country Dr. Mishra had to shift from Lyalpur in Pakistan to Kanpur in India and completed his B.Sc. in agriculture.

Dr. Mishra later saved in the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pura in Bihar. Later he shifted to Delhi. Dr. Mishra was credited with developing new varieties of wheat and sugarcane.
