The silence of clergy in response to domestic violence is detrimental to the victims; this project's focus was working with clergy to clarify oppressive theology as it relates to domestic violence and create a theology of liberation and healing. Focus groups, personal interviews and post surveys were used to help pastors ascertained their personal and theological beliefs related to domestic violence. The pastors involved agree that domestic violence training is a necessity for preaching, teaching and counseling victims. The conclusion drawn was that there must be a collaboration between religious leaders, denominational heads, religious institutions, and secular resources to mandate training. Less
