After the dissolution of {|the Louvin Brothers|} in 1963, {|Ira Louvin|} went on to record two albums for {|Capitol Records|}. The sum of these recordings have been combined on {|The Complete Recordings of Ira Louvin|}, which showcases the smooth traditional country stylings of the older, less volatile brother. This collection is a fair sample of the country-pop style popular in the late '50s and early '60s through {|Louvin|}'s familiar voice, with a smattering of old-time religion and Appalachian yodeling. Unfortunately, these last recordings fail to display any of the excellent mandolin picking that {|Louvin|} exhibited in the previous decades and really lacks the spark and bittersweet charm of the music performed with brother {|Charlie|}. ~ Zac Johnson
