Thomas Hebert returns to his bayou country home seeking to escape and heal the devastation and nightmares induced by his covert operative role in the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan. At first, all goes according to plan. He buys an old house and settles into a quiet routine. Now, in a type of aloneness he has never experienced, he soon realizes there is something missing in his life—he has never been in love.
