Last year, a tragic accident claimed the life of a beautiful young sorority girl, Nicole. Now it's a new semester, and Craig, who was not charged with murder, is focusing on his classes--and avoiding Nicole's sorority sisters, who blame him for her death. Perry is working through his own grief (he grew up with Nicole) by auditing Professor Polson's sociology class: Death, Dying, and the Undead. Mira, busy with her twin babies, can barely keep herself together to teach the class. And Shelly, the first person at the scene of the accident, has stopped calling newspapers to tell them that the girl she saw that night was not dead.
