Months after his brother's death, Syphon is finally back on duty after months of suspension for his role in the terrible events of the night of Shadow's death. He's less than thrilled about it, though. He's been sent to patrol the streets in the middle of the day, and he guesses he'll never even see a thrall, let alone a vampire. He's wrong. And finally, the rage and frustration he's been feeling for all the long months since Shadow's death finally have a place to land.
