The rain played an almost identifiable melody on the roof. I lay in bed enjoying the welcoming sounds. It had been one of those days, in fact one of those weeks. It was all good as within a few hours I would be on an airplane and off for the well needed vacation that I had been planning for over a year. The many sacrifices I had made would soon be paying off as I intended to get into my bikini, embrace my book and wallow in the warmth of the Caribbean sun, while enjoying my time alone. It had been years since I had been afforded that luxury. With family and other responsibilities, it was not always easy to get away however, it was about to happen and the rain was almost a gentle reminder of the tranquility that I was anticipating in the next few days.
