Four hundred years from now Old Earth has been largely depopulated and new terraformed planets carry the names of the countries they once represented. Space piracy is a concern for many, until one man's madness escalates it into an act of war. An old family-operated space Tug, attacked while on a routine recovery mission, becomes the catalyst for the birth of new technologies and many friendships before it unwittingly becomes the last resort in a battle that plunges planets into chaos.
