She corresponds privately with a man who explains that she could join him at a lottery mixer put on by a company who arranges marriages, but that they would have an advantage in that he could let her know who he was, and with any luck at all they would be matched up. She manages to get free transport out west to the lottery event, not knowing what will really happen when it begins.Surviving The Wolves, is about a high society woman in NYC who gets sent off to Oregon to be the bride of a lonely outpost operator.
