Rule one: don’t build a hit podcast season around a mafia boss unless you’re ready for him to hear it.

True-crime host Sloan Voss has never been afraid to say dangerous men’s names out loud. Her newest target, Roman Vetrano, is the kind of underworld figure people usually discuss in whispers—if they discuss him at all.

Sloan does worse than whisper.

She turns him into a viral season.

Then someone uses her investigation to set a trap.

Roman saves her, hides her in his cliffside villa, takes away her phone, and informs her that by exposing him, she exposed herself too. Worse? He’s been secretly listening to her podcast for years—and he has notes.

Now Sloan is stuck with a man she publicly called a monster, a source who lied, enemies closing in, and a case that gets uglier every time she touches it. Because Roman might be violent. He might be dangerous. But the deeper Sloan digs, the clearer it becomes that someone else wanted him to wear the blame.

And this time, the story she tells could ruin them both
